Why should I plan my activities before I arrive?

Reserving your activities in advance gives you the freedom to relax and enjoy yourself when you get to Maui. The best activities and adventures are usually sold out several weeks in advance. Many people find that when they arrive in Hawaii the best things to do are unavailable. That's why I created Maui Activities Online ~ to help you make the right decisions on the right adventures for you!

How do I receive my tickets?

I will issue your tickets or vouchers and send them to you via email along with customized driving directions from your hotel or condo. You can print them on your home computer and bring them with you to Hawaii. Just present them at check-in and you're all set! If you're already here in the islands or you don't have access to a printer, I can fax them to the front desk of your hotel instead.

Is there a fee for canceling?

No. Unlike other agencies, Maui Activities Online does not have any hidden charges or fees. This includes hidden 'cancellation charges'. Just give us 48 hours notice and you'll receive a 100% refund (unless specifically noted on your voucher in case more than 48 hours notice is required).

I've seen other sites offering 'discount' and 'cash-back' tours. What does this mean?

There are tons of websites appearing lately offering 'cash back' and 'discounted' activities on Maui. Although the majority of these sites are legitimate, it is important to understand that these companies require you to attend one or more Time Share Presentations before the event and some even have substantial 'service charges' that are hidden in the fine print. Maui Activities Online will NEVER ask you to attend a Time Share presentation. We will NEVER submit your personal information and/or travel dates to Time Share Companies. We will NEVER charge you a service charge, cancellation fee or other hidden charges. The price listed for each activity is all you will need to pay. Maui Activities Online is a licensed activity agency on Maui.

I just want to make a reservation. Can I pay when I arrive for the event?

Unfortunately, no. All of the tours and activities you see here have limited availability and are sold out well in advance. To overcome the high percentage of 'no shows' that come without prepaid reservations, activity companies on Maui require a guaranteed form of payment in advance to secure your place at the event.

Do I have to pay sales tax?

Hawaii has structured their tax system in such a way that every dollar gets taxed - whether it be for goods, services or...anything. Hawaii has a 4.166% excise tax which, unfortunately, has to be paid no matter what. We wish the tax laws here were different, but it's the price we pay for living and working in one of the world's most beautiful islands! All marine activities on a boat also have a harbor tax and fuel surcharge.

Am I supposed to tip?

Gratuity is not included in any of the adventures you can do on Maui unless noted on your voucher (such as for a luau). It is always gratefully accepted by your tour guide(s) if you feel they have gone above & beyond your expectations for each adventure & have given you superior service. Some companies will state outright that gratuity is accepted, others do not state this but it is always accepted and appreciated. If you are booking a group activity such as a luau, gratuity is often automatically added on to the bill. You will always be notified of this at the time of booking before approval.
